How are the rabbits strong?
Proper feeding strategies for rabbits should be tailored according to their age, following established dietary guidelines. For growing rabbits, it's advisable to increase protein levels while reducing energy-dense feeds. The feed must be nutritious, palatable, and easy to digest. Fresh green feed such as grass and vegetables should be provided daily to ensure a balanced diet. All feed must be clean, fresh, and free from mold or contamination.
Zhuang Qiuyu is known for its rich and complete nutritional profile, with suitable temperature conditions. A well-balanced and nutrient-rich diet should be prepared to provide high-quality blue-green materials. Feeding should be done on a scheduled and measured basis—early in the morning, late in the evening, and midday with green feed. Young rabbits should be fed 5–6 times per day, while juveniles 3–4 times, and adults 2–3 times. Clean and sufficient drinking water must always be available.
Breeding management is crucial, especially for non-pregnant females. Regular checks should be conducted to identify empty does and ensure timely breeding. Pregnant and nursing does require diets rich in protein, minerals, and vitamins. Pay close attention to the first litter, provide early nutritional supplements, and ensure timely weaning.
A strong and healthy rabbit population should be maintained by selecting fast-growing, vigorous offspring for breeding. Weak, sick, or underdeveloped rabbits should be removed promptly. Choose the best individuals to maintain the quality of the herd. To reduce stress, add 0.5% vitamin B12, 0.5% vitamin C, and 0.5% sodium bicarbonate to the feed. Also include some Houttuynia cordata and leeks, decoct the juice, mix with a bit of vinegar and sugar, and give it to the rabbits.
In Autumn, temperature fluctuations between morning, afternoon, and evening can be significant. Young rabbits are particularly vulnerable to colds, pneumonia, and enteritis, which can be fatal in severe cases. Therefore, group-raised rabbits should be brought indoors every evening, especially during windy or rainy weather. Avoid letting them roam outdoors in harsh conditions. Keep the environment clean, dry, and quiet. Regularly clean the water containers and disinfect the living area using a 3%–5% solution of Sur. Vaccinate against rabbit plague regularly, and include sulfamethazine and coccidiodin in the feed to prevent parasitic infections and other diseases.
