Causes of Engine Overheating and Solutions

The engine overheats mainly for several reasons: a. The cooling system does not work properly, resulting in poor heat dissipation; b. The engine itself is faulty, resulting in late combustion of the power cycle, resulting in too much heat, making the cooling system unable to produce. Dissipated more heat in a timely manner; c cylinder shell excessive deposition of scale on the outer wall, the cylinder heat can not be passed in time to the cooling water. Through the analysis of the above reasons, we can according to the different conditions of the engine, in the principle of simple to complex, from the table and the inside, find the cause of the engine overheating, and to solve them. The general steps are as follows: 1. Check the tightness of the fan belt and whether the fan blades are deformed or broken. 2. Check if the outside of the radiator is blocked and whether there is a lot of scale or plugging inside. If the outside blockage is not ventilated, use a water gun to clean it; if the inside of the radiator is blocked, apply a descaling cleaning solution or dismantle it. 3, check the cooling water level and cooling water circulation, first of all to ensure that the cooling water in the specified water level, if still can not solve the problem to further check the cooling water cycle, the method is: the cooling water level in the engine radiator return pipe just exposed position. Make the engine run at medium speed to observe the water circulation. If the water does not circulate, it indicates that there is dirt blocking or water pump damage in the waterway. The waterway should be cleaned or repaired and the water pump replaced. 4. Check if the thermostat is working properly and the thermostat works normally. Start at 70°C and fully open at 83°C. When the height of the fully raised valve is not less than 9 mm, the thermostat can be placed in the water and checked for heating. If the thermostat can not be opened or the opening is not enough, the thermostat can be replaced. 5, check the fuel or ignition time and valve clearance. Delays in fuel supply or ignition timing and valve clearances that are too small can cause late combustion of the engine's power cycle and excessive heat generation.
