When walking on a field tractor, a walking tractor found that the red indicator cap on the engine oil indicator was up and down. The operator immediately stopped the work and checked as follows:

(1) Remove the M8 oil pipe coupling bolt on the cylinder head cover and shake the engine with the crank handle. It is found that air bubbles are trapped in the oil flowing out of the oil pipe.

(2) Pull out the oil dipstick and check the oil level; open the rear cover to remove the oil filter and check that the mesh is clean; the oil filter assembly does not use the air pressure test to see leakage at the welding location.

(3) Remove the oil pump to check the wear of the inner and outer rotors and measure with the feeler gauge within the allowable range. To be on the safe side, the operator changed the internal and external rotors of the oil pump, but it still remained after the engine started operating. From where the air enters the oil gallery, it may enter from the flat pad of the two M8 pipe bolts at both ends of the oil pipe. However, the bolts at the two ends of the oil pipe were wiped, and there was no oil leakage after starting the engine. However, four new flat pads were changed to see if the cap still jumped.

In order to find out the reasons, the pilot tried to lift the handrail frame of the walking tractor. The front end of the frame landed and the engine was tilted 45 degrees. After the engine was started, the engine was running at medium speed. The indicator cap is raised and stable, and the handle frame is pressed firmly. The engine is in a horizontal position and the indicator cap is suddenly up and down. From this discovery, it shows that there is a leak in the internal oil circuit joints of the engine. After removing the back cover, the M16 pipe bolts and copper pads on the oil filter are unscrewed. After careful inspection, it is found that the M16 pipe teeth are elongated and the seal is not leaky. When replaced with new tube bolts, the caps rise and forcefully do not jump.

It turned out that when the engine was tilted 45, the oil in the oil pan just submerged the position of the M16 connecting bolt of the oil filter assembly, and air could not enter. When the engine is placed horizontally, the M16 pipe bolting parts of the oil filter assembly follow the fluctuation of the oil surface in the oil pan, sometimes submerged in the oil, and sometimes exposed on the oil surface, when the M16 pipe bolts are exposed. When oil is on the surface, the air enters.
