Setting and precautions for the experimental centrifuge in use

Centrifuge settings and precautions in use

a. Centrifuge level adjustment
Before the centrifuge is put into use, or after moving over the position, the level adjustment of the centrifuge must be carried out, otherwise the rotor will be seriously unbalanced. The specific method is to correctly install a rotor, put the level on the rotor, and repeatedly adjust the two adjustable screws on the front of the centrifuge. Until full level.
b. Correct use of the rotor
(1) Correctly install and disassemble the rotor, the removed rotor should be properly maintained, wipe and oil in time; (2) Use the rotor correctly, do not use the low speed rotor at high speed, otherwise the rotor may be damaged. (3) When the rotor has severe corrosion, it should be stopped; (4) The fatigue of the material may be caused by the long-term operation of the rotor. Therefore, it is necessary to make a record of the use time. When the use time of the rotor reaches the specified time limit, it should be stopped even if no problems are found by the naked eye to avoid an accident.
c. Turner temperature setting
The centrifuge has three temperature values, one is the required working temperature SETTEMP set by the operator with the SET knob, and the other is the starting temperature OVERTEMP of the rotor over-temperature protection system set by the operator with the OVERTEMP knob. The actual temperature ACTUALTEMP when the head is running. For the motor to function properly, the following relationships must be met:
ACTUALTEMP< OVERTEMP< 45°C
When the OVERTEMP to be set is higher than the actual temperature of the centrifugal chamber at that time, it can be set at one time. If the OVERTEMP to be set is lower than the actual temperature at the time of the centrifugal chamber, it should be set in two steps, firstly, the required Set the operating temperature, set OVERTEMP between the actual temperature of the centrifuge chamber and 45 °C, turn on the power of the centrifuge, wait until the temperature of the centrifuge drops to a temperature lower than the required OVERTEMP, then OVERTEMP Set to the desired temperature value. When the rotor is not running, the actual temperature of the rotor will be slightly lower than the temperature set by the SET knob. When the rotor starts to run, it will rise rapidly to the set value, and the actual rotation of the rotor during operation. The temperature also oscillates slightly around the set temperature, but because of the large volume of the rotor, the temperature of the sample can be kept at a constant value.
Since the centrifuge uses several different rotors, each of the rotors will not have the same temperature characteristics due to the difference in material and shape. Therefore, when using different rotors, set the rotor operating temperature and actual There will be some differences between the temperatures. To accurately control the temperature, you need to set the temperature compensation value correctly (set by the operator with the COMP knob). For specific values, please refer to the recommended table of the Kaida centrifuge, or gradually explore it yourself. When the ambient temperature is high and the operating temperature to be set is lower than 0"C, in order to obtain a lower operating temperature, the rotational speed needs to be lowered.
