Fattening beef cattle breeding management tips

According to the characteristics of fattening beef cattle, if we can adhere to the principles of "five-set," "five-see," and "five-net," we can achieve good fattening results.

"Five set"

(1) timing. Every day from 7 to 9 o'clock in the morning and from 5 to 7 o'clock in the afternoon, feed each at 1 hour, 8 hours apart. Drinking water 3 times in the morning, noon and afternoon.

(2) Quantitative. The daily amount of feed, especially the amount of concentrate, is 1 to 1.5 kg per 100 kg of body weight and cannot be arbitrarily increased or decreased.

(3) set people. Routine management of each cow's feeding and other daily tasks is necessary to keep abreast of each cow's feed intake and health, and to avoid stress.

(4) timing brushing. The cow body is brushed once a day in the morning and afternoon to promote blood circulation, increase appetite, keep the cow docile, easy to manage, and smooth the brush from the front to the back.

(5) Weigh regularly. In order to keep abreast of fattening effects and feed consumption, regular weighing is necessary. First, the cattle should be weighed when they enter the field, and grouped according to the size of the body to facilitate feeding and management. It is also regularly weighed during the fattening period. Since cattle consume the most food, in order to avoid weighing errors, they should be weighed in the morning on an empty stomach, preferably continuously.

“Five-seeing” refers to eating, drinking, watching excreta, watching rumination, and seeing if the spirit is normal.

"Five nets"

(1) Net forage. Forages and feeds do not contain foreign substances such as sand, mud, nails, iron wire, and plastic sheet. They do not become mildewed and are not degraded, and are free of toxic and hazardous substances.

(2) Feeding tank net. After the cattle under the trough, the feed trough should be cleaned in time to prevent the fodder residues from mouldy deterioration in the trough.

(3) drinking water. Pay attention to drinking water hygiene and avoid toxic and harmful substances from contaminating drinking water.

(4) cattle body net. Brush the body of the cow frequently to keep it healthy and prevent the occurrence of ectoparasites.

(5) Net homes. The pens should be cleaned, diligently removed, and the cattle bed should be dried to keep the air in the house clean, cool in winter and cool in summer.

Cowsheds and equipment are frequently used for repairing fragile items such as bridles and fences. They must be frequently inspected and replaced. The cowshed does not necessarily require high construction costs, but it should be rain-proof, sun-protected, cool in winter and cool in summer.

In addition, pay attention to timely slaughter, weight generally above 500 kg slaughter.
