Storage period of sweet potato precautions against soft rot

Soft rot is one of the main diseases of sweet potato during its storage period. It is widely distributed and occurs in various sweet potato production areas throughout the country. After the onset, the external symptoms were not obvious. Only the tubers became soft, watery and sticky. After the peeling of the peeled potato skin, it has yellow-brown juice and has a scent of wine. Once the disease has spread rapidly, it often causes the entire kiln to rot and causes serious damage.

In order to avoid the occurrence of soft rot, farmers can take the following measures:

1. Harvest in time to avoid the wound.

2. Select healthy potatoes before entering the pit, dry the water and gas into the pit at the right time. Clean up and fumigate the potato pit before entering the pit.

3. After entering the pit, high temperature healing can be performed. 4. Storage period scientific management: Initially, within 30 days after entering the cellar, due to the vigorous vitality of the tubers, the respiratory intensity is large, and a large amount of heat, water vapor and carbon dioxide are released, thereby forming a high temperature and humidity environment conditions. Therefore, this period of time The main work is ventilation, cooling and loosening, the temperature is controlled below 15°C, and the relative humidity is controlled at 90%-95%. The mid-term, that is, the cold period from December to February, is the coldest season of the year. Attention should be paid to thermal insulation and antifreeze, so that the pit temperature should not be lower than 10°C, and it is best to control at 12°C-14°C. In the later period, that is, outside temperatures gradually increased after March, the pit temperature should be checked frequently and kept at 10°C-14°C.

Greenhouse Hydroponic System

Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture, the method of growing plants without soil, using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. Terrestrial plants may be grown with only their roots exposed to the mineral solution, or the roots may be supported by an inert medium, such as perlite or gravel. The nutrients in hydroponics can come from an array of different sources; these can include but are not limited to waste from fish waste, duck manure, or normal nutrients.
