The Weekend.
Over the weekend, we decided to try something completely new — setting up makeshift living quarters using metal poles and waterproof tarp. It was a bit of a challenge, but also super rewarding to see how everything came together.
We spent hours playing volleyball, using whatever we could find — two sturdy trees for posts, a rope tied between them, and a trusty old ball. It was hilarious how competitive everyone got, even though half the time the ball ended up on the wrong side of the net!
Of course, no camping trip is complete without classic campfire meals. We roasted marshmallows, cooked up some hearty meals, and laughed until our stomachs hurt. The firelight flickered across everyone’s faces, creating this cozy, magical atmosphere that’s hard to replicate anywhere else.
The next day, we went hiking to explore some incredible spots where we discovered breathtaking waterfalls. The sound of cascading water was mesmerizing, and the views were absolutely stunning. Later, we rented bikes and cycled around the island, feeling the cool sea breeze as waves crashed against the rocky shores.
I’ll be honest — I’m not typically what you’d call a “camping person,†especially since I’m expecting right now. But surprisingly, I fell in love with every single moment. Nature has this way of grounding you, reminding you of its beauty and power. And while I still prefer the comfort of my own bed, there’s definitely something special about sleeping under the stars.
It’s funny how experiences like these change your perspective. Maybe one day I’ll even convince myself to trade my mattress for a tent permanently. Who knows? For now, though, I’ll just savor the memories and look forward to the next adventure.
Until then, I’ll keep dreaming about those sunsets, the crackling fire, and the peaceful moments surrounded by nature.
