Fitness // Run! Run! Run!

It's been a bit of a sluggish stretch over the past month or so—well, at least when it comes to fitness. Life’s been busy in other areas, but the gym visits have definitely tapered off. Normally, I aim for 4 to 5 sessions a week, and when B is away on deployment, I often push myself even harder because, let’s face it, I need those "me" moments. The YMCA has been such a lifesaver for me—it’s guilt-free and close by. But lately, I've only managed to squeeze in 2 or 3 workouts a week, and they haven't exactly been my most intense sessions. Now, here’s something you probably already know about me—I absolutely despise running. Like, really, really hate it. It’s not even funny. I mean, if there were an Olympic event for hating running, I’d win gold every time. But then, about six months ago, B came up with this wild idea: an adventure race. And, somehow, he talked me into joining him. I think he might’ve used some kind of Jedi mind tricks on me because next thing I knew, I agreed. The race was only 3.6 miles—not an ultra-marathon or anything crazy—but still, it felt like a big step for me. Since then, I’ve been running semi-consistently, about two or three times a week, until recently. Lately, though, I’ve been itching to get back out there. It’s not like I’ve fallen in love with it yet—I still have to psych myself up every time I lace up my shoes. But I can say this much: I no longer hate it. It’s almost... tolerable now. And that’s enough for me to want to dive back in. So, here’s the plan: I’m ready to pick up where I left off. Whether it’s running solo or with the stroller (because let’s be real, that’s how most of my workouts happen these days), I’m determined to get back into the groove. What about you? What does your fitness week look like? Any big goals or plans in mind? [Autumn signature] P.S. This post might contain affiliate links.
