The Laser Medical Device Alliance Preparation Meeting was held at Chutian Laser
On June 13th, a preparatory meeting was held in the conference room of Chutian Laser Group to discuss the establishment of the Laser Medical Device Sub-Union under the China Medical Device Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance. Organized by the Science and Technology Department of Hubei Province, the event brought together key figures from various sectors, including officials from the Provincial Science and Technology Department and the Economic Development Bureau of the East Lake New Technology Development Zone. Representatives from Wuhan·China Optics Valley Laser Industry Association, Chutian Laser Group, Qizhi Laser, Lingyun Optoelectronics, Shanghai Aotong Laser, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, as well as leaders from the Guangzhou Military Region Wuhan General Hospital and Tongji Hospital, attended the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Zhu Xiao, President of the Wuhan China Optics Valley Laser Industry Association. During the session, Deputy Director Wang Dongmei from the Provincial Science and Technology Department provided an overview of the background and significance of forming the Laser Medical Device Alliance. Zhu Xiao then shared the progress made so far in the preparatory work. Representatives from the alliance's founding members, along with experts and industry leaders, reviewed the proposed articles of association and agreement, offering suggestions for improvements. Discussions also focused on the alliance’s operational framework and long-term goals. Deputy Director Li Shiting from the East Lake Development Zone’s Economic Development Bureau shared constructive insights on the alliance’s formation.
Director Chen Maosheng from the Provincial Science and Technology Department emphasized that the establishment of the alliance reflects the combined strength of industry, academia, and research institutions in Hubei and across China. He highlighted its importance in addressing key technical challenges and accelerating industrial development. He urged the alliance to focus on major and common diseases in China, aiming to develop high-standard laser medical products with strong market potential. This, he said, would significantly boost technological advancement and industrial growth in China’s laser medical sector. He encouraged all participants to contribute their expertise and refine the alliance’s long-term vision.
A photo of representatives from each sponsor unit signing the agreement was displayed, capturing the collaborative spirit of the event. The meeting concluded with a consensus that the formation of the alliance is not only a response to the No. 770 document from six ministries but also a crucial step for all participating units to enhance their independent innovation capabilities. The alliance will operate based on principles of equality, voluntariness, and openness, ensuring balanced interests for all stakeholders. It is expected to become a vital platform driving technological innovation and industrial growth in China’s laser medical field.
