Saccharomyces fermented feed fish culture shrimp

The leftover material after cultivating edible mushrooms is often referred to as "bacillary dysentery," though this term might be misleading. During the mushroom cultivation process, the mycelium breaks down the organic matter in the substrate, significantly reducing the levels of crude fiber and lignin while increasing the content of crude protein and fat. As a result, the residual material becomes rich in nutrients and can be transformed into an excellent feed for fish through fermentation. To ferment this waste, it's important to start with clean, mold-free, and insect-free material. The substrate should be broken down into smaller pieces and mixed with appropriate amounts of salt, superphosphate, urea, and water. Adding a small quantity of a golden bacillus starter culture helps accelerate the fermentation process. The moisture content should be carefully controlled at around 60% to ensure optimal conditions for microbial activity. Once mixed, the material should be covered with plastic film and sealed tightly to create an anaerobic environment. For better results, some farmers recommend adding a small amount of human or animal manure to the mixture. Fermentation typically takes between 4 to 7 days, depending on the ambient temperature—shorter when it's warm and longer when it's cold. After this period, the fermented material becomes a nutritious and palatable feed for fish. According to some fish farmers who have experimented with this method, feeding fish with fermented mushroom waste has proven very effective. The fish show a strong appetite, grow faster, and suffer from fewer diseases. This not only reduces feed costs but also enhances the overall profitability of fish farming. Using this sustainable practice helps turn agricultural byproducts into valuable resources, promoting eco-friendly and cost-effective aquaculture.
